Job Overview:
The Migration Management Coordinator will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities under the Migration Management portfolio of IOM Pakistan. This position requires a proactive approach to coordinating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local partners, and other relevant entities. The coordinator will be responsible for developing work plans that align with IOM's policies and donor requirements, ensuring effective utilization of financial resources. The role also involves creating training materials, facilitating training sessions, and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact of projects. The coordinator will be expected to travel as necessary to support project activities and will contribute to the development of new project proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities under the Migration Management portfolio.
  • Develop work plans for financial resource utilization and track expenditures in accordance with IOM policies and donor requirements.
  • Serve as the focal point for communication and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal experts to develop training materials and incorporate feedback from government representatives.
  • Provide technical, administrative, and logistical support for activities involving government agencies and local partners.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions for project stakeholders, delivering selected training sessions on relevant topics.
  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to assess project progress and impact, identifying issues and suggesting remedial actions.
  • Draft project-related materials, including visibility materials, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Undertake travel duties as required for project implementation. 1
  • Generate ideas for potential new projects and assist in drafting concept notes and proposals. 1
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in development studies, political sciences, social sciences, gender studies, law, human rights, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma and 7 years of experience will also be considered. Accredited institutions are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and coordination skills, be detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as development studies, political sciences, social sciences, gender studies, law, or human rights is required. Candidates with a High School diploma and extensive experience in relevant areas may also apply. The educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in planning and implementing project activities, particularly in areas related to migration. Experience in liaising with external actors, including government counterparts and civil society, is essential. Candidates should also have experience in preparing project reports and communication materials. Familiarity with project design and donor liaison is advantageous, as is prior experience working with UN agencies or international organizations, especially IOM.

Languages:
Fluency in Urdu and English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other local languages in Pakistan is considered an advantage, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates with a valid residence and work permit for Pakistan will be considered. The appointment is contingent upon medical fitness certification and verification of residency and visa requirements. Candidates must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination as part of the mandatory medical entry clearance.
