Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor - Counter Sales/Personalized Stamp Shop Clerk involves generating revenue for the United Nations through the sale of UN philatelic items. The contractor will be responsible for the daily operations of the sales counter, ensuring that all sales proceeds are accurately managed and banked within 24 hours. This role requires a proactive approach to customer service, ensuring high client satisfaction through the sale of high-quality philatelic products. The contractor will also be tasked with setting up and maintaining photographic and printing equipment to produce personalized stamp sheets for visitors and clients at the Vienna International Centre (VIC). The expected duration of this position is from April 16, 2025, to December 19, 2025, and it is based at the UNPA Sales Counter, Check Point 1, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The contractor will perform a variety of duties under the supervision of the Supervisor, Mail and Operations Unit. Key responsibilities include selling UN stamps and philatelic products, answering customer queries, handling cash and credit card transactions, and ensuring timely banking of sales revenue. The contractor will also be responsible for recording and generating daily and monthly sales reports using Excel spreadsheets. Additionally, the contractor will process and frank/cancel mails for postage, set up photographic and printing equipment, take photos of VIC visitors, and produce personalized stamp sheets. Monthly stock taking and assisting with peak workload assignments to meet critical deadlines are also part of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma as a minimum educational requirement. While limited relevant working experience is acceptable, preference will be given to those with experience in handling stamps and philatelic products. Strong sales and marketing skills are essential, along with good photographic and computer skills. The ability to handle stamps and other philatelic products with manual dexterity is required. Professionalism, client orientation, and accountability are crucial attributes for this position, and flexibility in work approach is desirable. Experience with photographic, computer, and printing equipment is also advantageous.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement for this position. Candidates with additional qualifications related to sales, marketing, or photography may be preferred, but the primary requirement is a completed secondary education.

Experience:
The position requires limited relevant working experience, ideally in a sales environment related to stamps and philatelic products. Candidates should demonstrate good sales and marketing skills, as well as experience in customer service. Familiarity with photographic and printing equipment is desirable, but not mandatory.

Languages:
