Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their technical skills in pre-press operations, printing processes, and binding techniques, contributing to the effective dissemination of nuclear-related information. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for each role are as follows:
Pre-press Operator:
- Prepare files for final print, ensuring they meet the technical specifications required for publication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with electronic files received from customers, ensuring completeness and readiness for printing.
- Maintain quality control of PDF files and ensure adherence to IAEA printing standards.
- Record all pre-press activities in the production workflow management system.
- Update and maintain relevant databases and record-keeping tools.
Printing Operator:
- Operate and maintain digital printing equipment, ensuring high-quality output.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the printing process, adjusting settings as necessary.
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting on printing equipment.
- Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines in the workplace.
Binding Operator:
- Operate bindery equipment and ensure the quality of bound publications.
- Program and calibrate binding systems according to job specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of binding equipment.
- Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete other relevant tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications for each role:
Pre-press Operator:
- Completed secondary education.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a printing company.
- Proficiency in specialized printing production software, including Adobe Creative Suite and pre-press software.
- Strong understanding of publishing and printing processes.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
Printing Operator:
- Completed secondary education.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial printing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of modern offset and digital printing equipment.
- Strong understanding of publishing and printing processes.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
Binding Operator:
- Completed secondary education.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in high-volume bookbinding.
- Knowledge of modern binding equipment and processes.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
Educational Background: All candidates must have completed secondary education as a minimum requirement for the positions. Further specialized training or certifications in printing, binding, or related fields may be advantageous and will be considered favorably during the selection process.
Experience: Candidates are required to have a minimum of five years of continuous relevant working experience in their respective fields. This experience should be in a printing company or related operations, demonstrating a strong understanding of the technical aspects of pre-press, printing, or binding processes.
Languages: A good command of English is mandatory for all positions, both oral and written. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly the official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish), would be considered an asset but is not required.
