Job Overview: The Programme Management Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the coordination of programme and project planning and preparation within the ECLAC Brasilia Office. This position involves monitoring the status of programme/project proposals, compiling and summarizing data on specific programmes, and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and procedures. The assistant will serve as a focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with various organizational units to facilitate the implementation of programme/project activities. The assistant will also be responsible for drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and providing general office assistance, including organizing meetings and workshops. Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Management Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: assisting in the coordination of programme/project planning and preparation; monitoring the status of proposals and documentation; compiling and summarizing information/data on specific programmes; reviewing project documents for completeness and compliance; verifying budget revisions and availability of funds; serving as a focal point for administrative coordination; compiling and entering data on project delivery; drafting correspondence and reports; providing general office assistance; responding to complex information requests; organizing meetings and workshops; providing guidance to new staff; assisting with data collection and analysis; proofreading documents; providing secretarial support for seminars and conferences; and maintaining websites. The assistant will also perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. For positions in the General Service category, it is essential to clearly indicate relevant information confirming completion of high school in the Applicant Profile. Additionally, candidates should have at least five years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, data management, or a related area. This requirement is reduced to three years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Familiarity with Brazil's institutional settings and the framework for international cooperation is required, along with experience in data analytics and technical cooperation programme management, preferably within the United Nations or similar organizations. Experience in planning and organizing events and meetings is also desirable.
Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. While a higher education degree is not mandatory, it can reduce the required years of experience for applicants, making them more competitive for the role.

Knowledge of a language means a rating of 'confident' or 'fluent' in at least two of the four areas, which can enhance communication and collaboration within the organization.
