Job Overview:
The ICT Associate position at UNDP is crucial for ensuring the effective implementation of information and communication technology strategies within the Regional Hub for Arab States in Amman. The role involves overseeing the functioning of hardware and software, managing network administration, providing web management services, and offering administrative support related to ICT. The incumbent will also facilitate knowledge building and sharing within the Regional Hub, ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary ICT skills and resources. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery in a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement ICT strategies and ensure compliance with corporate information management standards, including participation in the development of annual ICT plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure the effective functioning of hardware and software packages, including installation, operation, maintenance, and routine repairs of UNDP hardware.
  • Administer networks by monitoring daily connections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring protection against malicious attacks.
  • Provide web management services, including maintenance of Regional Hub websites and troubleshooting for UNDP and other UN agencies.
  • Offer administrative support in procuring new ICT equipment, maintaining inventory, and providing technical specifications.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by promoting systems for content management and organizing training for staff.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education with relevant certifications in hardware and software management. A university degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant work experience is essential, with a minimum of 6 years required for those with secondary education or 3 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Candidates should demonstrate experience in network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, and familiarity with Windows-based applications. Experience with web-based management systems is also required.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement is secondary education with relevant certifications in ICT. A university degree in a related field such as Information Technology or Computer Science is advantageous but not mandatory. Relevant certifications in hardware and software management will be considered favorably.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant ICT experience at the national or international level if they possess secondary education. Those with a bachelor's degree are required to have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in network administration, hardware and software management, and familiarity with telecommunications facilities is essential. Additionally, experience working with UNDP or similar organizations is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French or any other UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this role.
