Job Overview:
The Lead Consultant for Sustainable Report Regulatory Framework will be responsible for developing a regulatory framework related to IFRS Sustainability Standards. This position is crucial for ensuring that sustainability reporting aligns with international standards and practices. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to assess current regulations, identify gaps, and propose necessary changes to enhance sustainability reporting in Mongolia. The role requires a deep understanding of sustainability issues, regulatory environments, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations. The consultant will also be expected to provide recommendations that support the integration of sustainability into national policies and practices, ensuring that Mongolia meets its international commitments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing sustainability reporting regulations in Mongolia.
  • Analyze the alignment of current regulations with IFRS Sustainability Standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather input and feedback on proposed regulatory changes.
  • Develop a detailed report outlining the necessary regulatory framework for sustainability reporting.
  • Provide recommendations for policy adjustments to enhance sustainability practices in the country.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to promote understanding and acceptance of the new framework.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the regulatory framework, providing ongoing support and adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to UNDP and relevant stakeholders throughout the assignment period.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in sustainability, environmental policy, or a related field. They should have experience in regulatory framework development, particularly in the context of sustainability reporting. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with diverse stakeholders are essential. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development and an understanding of international sustainability standards.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in sustainability reporting or related areas will be considered an asset. The educational background should reflect a strong understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of sustainability and regulatory frameworks.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability reporting, regulatory development, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs in a consulting capacity is highly desirable. Proven track record of successfully managing similar projects and delivering results within specified timelines is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Mongolian is an advantage, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the region may also be beneficial.
