The mission is tasked with facilitating humanitarian assistance, promoting and protecting human rights, supporting justice and the rule of law, and overseeing disarmament, demobilization, reintegration, and repatriation processes. The mission operates in a challenging environment, focusing on the stabilization of the region and the protection of vulnerable populations.

Job Overview:
The Radio Producer position involves producing news broadcasts for the UN mission's radio station under the general supervision of the Director of the Strategic Communications and Public Information Division (DCPI) and direct supervision from the Chief of the Radio Unit. The producer is responsible for researching, writing, producing, and broadcasting radio news and multimedia programs in French, focusing on the activities of MINUSCA, the country team, local authorities, and other stakeholders in the region. The role requires the producer to provide raw or edited audio material for daily and weekly radio productions, conduct interviews, gather audio and multimedia materials, and perform technical production tasks as needed. The producer will also be responsible for launching new radio projects based on local realities and developing content on various topics, including politics, security, justice, peace, reconciliation, health, and the economy. This position is crucial for ensuring that the mission's messages reach the local population effectively and engagingly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Radio Producer will undertake a variety of tasks, including: conducting research and interviews, writing scripts, and producing technical content for radio broadcasts; gathering audio and multimedia materials; editing audio and managing sound files; traveling as necessary for fieldwork; producing original documents and relevant materials for programming; launching new radio projects based on local needs; developing, writing, and recording radio programs, announcements, reports, and news segments; liaising with community radios and NGOs regarding the use of radio programs; contributing to the identity of programs, including musical themes and styles; assisting broadcasters in preparing their daily shows; editing news clips and mixing weekly documentaries and daily reports. The role requires a proactive approach to content creation and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the relevance and impact of the broadcasts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong communication skills, planning and organizational abilities, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a team. The role demands creativity and adaptability to produce engaging content that resonates with the local audience. A thorough understanding of the socio-political context of the Central African Republic is essential, as well as the ability to work under challenging conditions.

Educational Background:
A degree in communications, journalism, media studies, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of radio production techniques and multimedia content creation, as well as familiarity with the UN's mission and objectives in the Central African Republic.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in radio production or a related field. Experience working in challenging environments, particularly in conflict or post-conflict settings, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UN system and its operations will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as all broadcasts will be produced in this language. Proficiency in English or other local languages is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
