Job Overview: The Pharmacist position is crucial for maintaining the health and well-being of UN personnel in South Sudan. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the availability and safety of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in accordance with WHO standards. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive list of essential drugs, conducting inspections, advising on pharmaceutical issues, and monitoring drug consumption. The pharmacist will work closely with the health team to provide integrated healthcare services and ensure that medical supplies are effectively managed and distributed across the mission. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Pharmacist include:
Developing, updating, and implementing a mission list for drugs and medical consumables based on WHO standards.
Conducting ongoing inspections of drug safety in Level 1 Clinics.
Providing daily advice on pharmaceutical issues to medical staff.
Advising on drug specifications for requisitioning.
Planning and managing the re-supply of drugs and medical consumables.
Facilitating the supply of essential medical items, including vaccines and blood products.
Monitoring drug consumption and managing stocks at the Tomping Level-I Clinic.
Assisting in treatment and monitoring side effects of medications.
Dispensing prescriptions and medical supplies to patients. 1
Maintaining accurate records of pharmaceutical products and supplies. 1
Participating in logistics-operations" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">logistics operations for expired supplies and redistribution of medical items. 1
Reporting regularly on pharmaceutical needs and activities as required by the Head Pharmacist. 1
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid pharmacy license and have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical practices and regulations.
