Job Overview: The position of Graphic Designer for the International Women’s Month Campaign involves creating a range of visual materials to promote and commemorate women's contributions and issues in The Gambia. The designer will be responsible for developing digital and print materials that align with UNDP's branding guidelines. This role is crucial in ensuring that the campaign effectively communicates its messages and engages the audience through visually appealing designs. The designer will work closely with UNDP staff to understand the campaign's objectives and translate them into compelling graphics that resonate with the target audience. The expected outcome includes a complete set of campaign visuals that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also serve the purpose of raising awareness and promoting discussions around women's rights and empowerment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design official International Women’s Month campaign flyers in a digital format that captures the essence of the campaign.
Develop event invitation cards in both print and digital versions to invite participants and stakeholders to the events.
Create branded speaker cards that include the name, title, and organization of speakers involved in the campaign.
Design countdown cards to build anticipation for the events, indicating the number of days remaining until the campaign activities.
Develop a cohesive visual theme for the entire campaign that aligns with UNDP brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all materials.
During the event, design quote cards that feature key messages from the Resident Representative, government officials, and partners to highlight their support and contributions.
Produce real-time highlight cards for social media dissemination to engage the audience and provide updates during the campaign events.
Ensure the final deliverables include editable source files and high-resolution versions suitable for both web and print use.
Maintain consistent application of UNDP branding standards across all materials produced for the campaign.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in graphic design, particularly in creating promotional materials for campaigns.
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to apply them effectively in design work.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
A portfolio showcasing previous design work, particularly related to campaigns or events.
Educational Background: A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in graphic design software or related areas will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a focus on creating materials for campaigns or events. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in development contexts is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in The Gambia would be an advantage, as it may enhance communication with local stakeholders and audiences.
