Job Overview:
The position involves volunteering for the Sustainable Energy Academy (SEA), a global digital learning platform created by UNDP to enhance national capacities and foster a community of energy practitioners. The SEA links energy planning and policy to critical areas such as water, food systems, finance, health, employment, social protection, climate, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and gender equality. Volunteers will play a crucial role in the final validation, refinement, and localization of learning assets, particularly focusing on infographic content that supports the Academy's educational objectives. This role is vital as it ensures that the educational materials are not only accurate but also engaging and effective in communicating key insights related to sustainable energy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will be responsible for refining infographic content within the Sustainable Energy Academy, specifically across two modules that encompass approximately 15 infographics. The key duties include:
  • Energy Technical Content Validation and Improvement: Ensuring all infographic content is technically accurate and consistent with current sustainable energy data and concepts, while aligning with UNDP's narrative.
  • Clarity and Strengthening of Messaging: Refining text, labels, and annotations within the infographics to enhance clarity and conciseness, ensuring strong communication of key insights.
  • Narrative and Pedagogical Alignment: Making sure each infographic supports the associated lesson objective, reinforcing key concepts and contributing to the overall learning flow.
  • Data and Insight Framing: Enhancing the presentation of data to highlight meaningful insights, comparisons, and trends, ensuring visuals communicate clear takeaways rather than just raw information. The expected output is a set of refined infographics that are technically accurate, clearly communicated, and fully aligned with the Academy’s learning objectives and narrative structure, ready for integration into the platform and final publication.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess relevant experience in the sustainable energy sector, particularly in areas related to energy policy and development. Demonstrated expertise in English-language editing and content development is essential. Additionally, volunteers should have a strong understanding of infographic design principles and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. Familiarity with educational frameworks and pedagogical strategies will be beneficial in ensuring that the infographics serve their intended educational purpose.

Educational Background:
A background in fields related to sustainable energy, environmental science, public policy, or education is preferred. Candidates should ideally have completed or be pursuing a degree in one of these areas, as this will provide the necessary context and understanding required for the role.
