This challenge requires a robust retention process to understand, predict, and anticipate donor behaviors, ensuring their permanence. The retention and loyalty of donors is a strategic axis of UNICEF Colombia's Retention Plan 2026, based on an omnichannel, personalized strategy centered on the donor experience.
Job Overview: The UN Volunteer Expert will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing marketing content and campaigns for all cross-cutting initiatives in the retention area, ensuring a comprehensive and coherent vision across all contact points and channels (email, telemarketing, WhatsApp, SMS, social media, and donor portal). UNICEF Colombia manages over 42 communication flows throughout the donor lifecycle (welcome, nurturing, donor care, upgrade, special appeal, saving, and reactivation), which requires ensuring narrative, visual, and experiential coherence, as well as efficient execution aligned with the objectives of the 2026 Plan. The role will focus on strengthening engagement, long-term relationships, and donor value, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. The UNV will support the implementation and monitoring of the retention, loyalty, and engagement strategy in line with the objectives of the Retention Plan.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities include: designing, coordinating, and implementing the content strategy and marketing campaigns for retention initiatives; leading the planning, execution, and optimization of communication journeys throughout the donor lifecycle; ensuring narrative, visual, and experiential coherence across various channels; implementing and strengthening differentiated strategies for new and long-term donors; coordinating campaign execution with internal teams and external providers; analyzing CRM data to understand donor behaviors and preferences; proposing advanced segmentations for personalized content; identifying improvement opportunities in existing journeys; monitoring campaign performance through key indicators; preparing periodic reports on results; providing continuous feedback on content effectiveness; collaborating with internal teams for integrated campaign execution; supporting technical evaluations of providers; and overseeing contracts and budgets related to communication and retention initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure. They should demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and professionalism, along with a commitment to continuous learning and teamwork. Proficiency in project management and communication is essential, as well as a strong understanding of donor engagement strategies and marketing principles.
Educational Background: A degree in marketing, communications, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced studies or certifications in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit management are highly desirable.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of experience in donor relations, marketing, or communications, preferably within the nonprofit sector. Experience with CRM systems and data analysis is essential, along with a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, particularly those relevant to the donor base.
Additional Notes: The contract duration is as indicated above, with the possibility of extensions subject to funding availability, operational needs, and satisfactory performance. However, renewal of the assignment is not guaranteed. The monthly living allowance is $8,515,500 COP, which covers housing, services, and ordinary living expenses. Benefits include life, health, and permanent disability insurance, as well as final repatriation if applicable. This assignment requires full availability and exclusivity with the United Nations system. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the volunteer will be responsible for securing their own housing and other essentials for subsistence.
