Job Overview:
The Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the integrated delivery of programs across humanitarian, development, and peace pillars within the Peace Support Facility (PSF). This position is primarily focused on coordination, integration, and support functions, facilitating collaboration among PSF field teams and thematic areas. The Specialist is responsible for promoting information sharing, joint working practices, and identifying synergies across interventions to ensure that the PSF operates as a coherent nexus platform. The role also involves outreach and partnership-building with various stakeholders, including humanitarian, development, peace, and private sector actors, to strengthen nexus-oriented coordination and collaboration. Additionally, the Specialist supports knowledge management, data consolidation, reporting, and conflict sensitivity, contributing to resource mobilization and partnership efforts led by the Head of PSF.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus Specialist include supporting the Head of PSF in ensuring integrated design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation across humanitarian, development, and peace dimensions. The Specialist will facilitate structured information sharing among PSF thematic leads and field teams, encourage joint planning and coordination, and consolidate inputs to identify overlaps and gaps in programming. The role also involves organizing and documenting internal coordination meetings, tracking follow-up actions, and promoting the practical application of the HDP nexus approach. Externally, the Specialist will engage with key stakeholders, support the preparation of coordination meetings, and facilitate information exchange to promote alignment and avoid duplication. Knowledge management responsibilities include consolidating program data, preparing integrated progress reports, and documenting lessons learned. The Specialist will also provide analytical support for resource mobilization and strategic partnership efforts, contributing to the preparation of proposals and briefing materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus Specialist position should possess strong facilitation, synthesis, and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and sectors in a dynamic environment. A deep understanding of the humanitarian-development-peace nexus and experience in coordination and partnership-building are essential. Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the UNDP and the PSF. This position is a national UN Volunteer assignment, meaning that the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The living conditions in Addis Ababa are characterized by a temperate climate, with a significant expatriate community and reasonable housing options.
