Job Overview: The position involves serving as a consultant for the collection and systematization of data for the evaluation of the Sembrando Vida project in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala. The consultant will be responsible for conducting both quantitative and qualitative data collection activities, which are essential for assessing the project's impact and effectiveness. The role requires a commitment of approximately 8 weeks, starting in March 2025 and concluding in May 202
The consultant will work remotely but must be able to travel to the communities in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala where the project has been implemented. This position is part-time and involves digital and/or in-person meetings as agreed upon.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection activities related to the Sembrando Vida project.
Systematize the collected data for evaluation purposes.
Collaborate with the project coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team and the Effective Governance and Democracy Officer at the UNDP Country Office.
Prepare reports and presentations based on the data collected.
Ensure that all data collection methods comply with ethical standards and UNDP guidelines.
Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss findings and recommendations.
Maintain communication with the UNDP team throughout the consultancy period.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in development projects.
Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with the Sembrando Vida project or similar initiatives is an advantage.
Educational Background: A degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data collection, analysis, and evaluation within the context of international development projects. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the primary language of communication will be Spanish. Proficiency in English is also beneficial, especially for reporting and communication with international stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is part-time and will require the consultant to be available for remote work, with the possibility of in-person meetings as needed. The consultant must be able to travel to the project sites in Belize, Cuba, and Guatemala during the consultancy period. Payment will be made upon delivery and acceptance of products according to the payment schedule.
