Job Overview:
The position involves the systematic evaluation and balancing of environmental eligibility criteria within the context of procurement processes. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that environmental considerations are integrated into the procurement activities of UNDP in Peru. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of environmental policies and regulations, as well as the ability to assess and analyze the environmental impact of procurement decisions. The contractor will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental standards and contribute to the sustainable development goals set by the UNDP. The position is expected to last for 75 calendar days, during which the contractor will engage in various tasks related to the evaluation of environmental criteria in procurement processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of environmental eligibility criteria relevant to procurement processes.
  • Develop a systematic approach to evaluate and balance these criteria in line with UNDP policies.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into procurement documents and processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on environmental eligibility requirements.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with environmental standards throughout the procurement process.
  • Prepare reports and documentation outlining findings and recommendations related to environmental eligibility criteria.
  • Engage with external partners and stakeholders to promote best practices in environmental procurement.
  • Facilitate training sessions for procurement staff on environmental eligibility criteria and their importance.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide clarifications regarding environmental eligibility criteria as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, administration, agronomy, environmental engineering, or related fields.
  • A completed master's degree in Public Management, Environmental Management, Administration, or related fields is highly valued.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of general professional experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in formulating, evaluating, or monitoring business plans in the agricultural sector.
  • At least one (1) experience in reviewing compliance or requirements associated with funding sources, grants, or incentives in the agricultural sector.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, administration, agronomy, or environmental engineering. A master's degree in a related area is preferred and will be considered an asset in the selection process.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience, with at least three (3) years specifically in the agricultural sector focusing on business plan formulation, evaluation, or monitoring. Additionally, candidates should have experience in reviewing compliance with funding sources or grants related to the agricultural sector.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position is based in Peru. Knowledge of English is considered an asset and may be beneficial for communication with international stakeholders and documentation.

This is an individual contractor position with a contract duration of 75 calendar days. The work is expected to be conducted in Lima, Peru.
