Job Overview:
The Policy Officer (National Pillar Coordinator) plays a crucial role in the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty (GAAHP), which aims to eradicate poverty, hunger, and malnutrition globally. This position is integral to the Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division, where the officer will provide intellectual leadership and operational support for policy assistance work across various regions. The officer will be responsible for implementing coherent and effective policy assistance and governance work that aligns with GAAHP priorities and FAO delivery mechanisms. The role requires collaboration with technical and policy officers, participation in policy analysis missions, and the development of cross-sectoral policies related to poverty eradication, social protection, food security, and sustainable agriculture. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Policy Officer will support the coordination of the national pillar of the GAAHP and facilitate technical assistance collaboration across the UN System. Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in the implementation of GAAHP national matchmaking and sharing best practices.
  • Building networks with governmental and organizational counterparts for program coordination.
  • Monitoring critical program issues requiring GAAHP Support Mechanism involvement and organizing information flows.
