Job Overview:
The Policy Officer (National Pillar Coordinator) plays a crucial role in the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty (GAAHP), which aims to eradicate poverty, hunger, and malnutrition globally. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Policy Officer will support the coordination of the national pillar of the GAAHP and facilitate technical assistance collaboration across the UN System. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the implementation of GAAHP national matchmaking and sharing best practices.
• Building networks with governmental and organizational counterparts for program coordination.
• Monitoring critical program issues requiring GAAHP Support Mechanism involvement and organizing information flows.

• Supporting GAAHP members in networking with external counterparts and representing GAAHP in institutional inquiries.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in political sciences, social sciences, economics, sociology, food security, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in policy advice and public analysis related to social protection, poverty eradication, food and nutrition security, and rural development is required. Candidates should also demonstrate a working knowledge of English (proficiency - level C) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish - level B).

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree is required, specifically in fields such as political sciences, social sciences, economics, sociology, food security, nutrition, or sustainable agriculture.
