Job Overview: The Assistant Logistique et Finance will work under the managerial authority of the logistics and finance manager and collaborate with the supply manager and technical teams in water, hygiene, and sanitation (EHA) and community mobilization. The main objectives of this internship include discovering the functioning of a mission, understanding the relationship between headquarters, coordination, and field operations, and gaining insight into various professions in the field. The intern will also learn about project management, financial and logistical tracking tools, and the constraints of humanitarian missions. This position is designed to provide practical experience in logistics and finance within a humanitarian context, focusing on the specific challenges faced in Mayotte.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Logistique et Finance will have a variety of responsibilities, including assisting the logistics and finance manager with market knowledge, tracking purchases, and updating related tools in compliance with donor regulations. The intern will also help in sourcing donations for hygiene kits, ensuring the transport and storage of goods before technical teams intervene, and participating in distributions on the ground. Additional tasks include archiving and centralizing logistics documents, updating accounting journals, managing invoicing and prepayments, maintaining stock tracking files, and conducting inventory. The intern will assist in the procurement process by researching suppliers and donations, preparing purchase files, and ensuring compliance with SI's purchasing procedures. They will also support the organization of freight and manage stock inventories, informing program teams of product arrivals. In terms of accounting, the intern will collect and compile individual expense reports, verify and archive supporting documents, and contribute to monthly and annual accounting closures. The intern will also assist in preparing for financial audits and participate in weekly and monthly meetings across various departments.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a background in humanitarian logistics, accounting, financial management, project management, development, international relations, or political science. Technical skills required include excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), strong analytical and writing abilities, and good synthesis and prioritization skills. A valid driver's license (Permis B) is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate proactivity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. An interest in the context of water access in France and a commitment to the principles and work of Solidarités International are essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes studies in humanitarian logistics, accounting, financial management, project management, development, international relations, or political science. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of humanitarian aid and the operational challenges faced in the field.
Experience: The position is designed for interns, so prior experience in logistics or finance is not strictly required, but any relevant experience in humanitarian settings or related fields would be beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic environment of humanitarian work.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as the position is based in Mayotte and requires communication with local teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of English or other languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse teams and contexts.

The internship is compensated at a rate of 5.60 euros per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked each month (approximately 154 hours per month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each).
