Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer position is designed to support the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, which is tasked with monitoring and verifying the implementation of the peace agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP. The volunteer will work under the supervision of a team leader and will be responsible for engaging with local communities, gathering information on the ground, and supporting the mission's activities related to peace and reconciliation. Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: visiting meeting areas and towns to gather insights on local dynamics; building relationships with parties, local actors, and communities; supporting regional teams in implementing mission activities; monitoring incidents and alleged violations of the peace agreement; analyzing threats and murders in the context of armed groups; preparing and analyzing reports; maintaining relationships with authorities involved in security guarantees; monitoring institutional commitments in reincorporation; supporting economic reintegration projects; creating communication materials for peace education; participating in municipal peace councils; serving as a liaison between UN counterparts and local actors; and performing additional functions as needed. Furthermore, the volunteer is expected to strengthen their understanding of volunteerism, engage in UNV activities, and contribute to reporting and communication efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the UN Volunteer position should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
