Job Overview: The Project Manager will play a crucial role in the implementation of the project 'Enhancing Employability for Vulnerable Youth in Ninawa, Iraq', which was initiated in July 2022 through a partnership between UNESCO and KOICA. The primary objective of this project is to enhance the employability of graduates in relevant economic sectors by providing employment-oriented training programs that align with the labor market's needs. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring that training quality is improved across three Vocational Excellence Centers, fostering private sector links, and enhancing the infrastructure of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) providers. The role requires a strategic approach to project management, technical assistance, and capacity development for partners, as well as effective communication and advocacy efforts to promote the project's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will be responsible for guiding the implementation and management of the project, which includes: 1) Improving the quality of training provision within the three Vocational Excellence Centers; 2) Enhancing private sector links through tailored support services and participation in training provision; 3) Upgrading the infrastructure of TVET providers to set national standards for excellence. The incumbent will manage human and financial resources, oversee project monitoring and reporting, coordinate with implementing partners, prepare reports and presentations, and manage advocacy and communication efforts. Additionally, the Project Manager will undertake missions as necessary for project implementation and assist with other tasks as requested by the Director or Chief of Education.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, Civil Engineering, or closely related fields. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in education or Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is required, with at least one year of experience at the international level preferred. Experience in education and training or skills development projects is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a strong commitment to their duties, along with excellent coordination and project management skills.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Education, Social Sciences, Civil Engineering, or closely related fields is mandatory for this position.
