Job Overview: The National Project Officer will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the ILO's project activities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Duties and Responsibilities: The National Project Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: reviewing and analyzing national development plans and socioeconomic data; identifying technical cooperation areas; collaborating with partners to design and revise project work plans; preparing budget proposals; monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery of activities; providing technical advice to authorities on social security and protection reforms; assisting in resource programming and control; participating in conferences and workshops; drafting official correspondence and reports; and performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Technical Advisor (CTA). The officer will also be expected to lead in preparing briefs and technical reports, ensuring that all project activities are documented and communicated effectively to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, public law, public administration, social sciences, development studies, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of professional experience at the national level in social protection and social policy. Technical knowledge in automating public services through digital solutions or experience in labor statistics will be considered advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of social security reforms and the ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
Educational Background: A first-level university degree is required for this position, with a focus on fields such as economics, public law, public administration, social sciences, or development studies. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of social protection systems and policies, as well as for engaging effectively with various stakeholders involved in the project.
Experience: The position requires at least one year of professional experience in the field of social protection and social policy at the national level.
