Job Overview: The Impact and System Evaluation Advisor position is designed to enhance Welthungerhilfe's capacity as an impact-oriented and accountable learning organization. The advisor will play a crucial role in capturing and strengthening evidence of impactful project approaches, as well as measuring the overall impact of the organization at the system level, particularly in areas such as nutrition and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). The role involves advising senior management on strategic technical issues related to impact evaluation and scaling effective approaches, thereby contributing to the organization's mission of eradicating hunger globally. The advisor will also be responsible for planning and implementing decision-making processes that identify and evaluate impactful project and program approaches, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of effective humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Impact and System Evaluation Advisor include advising board members and executives on strategic technical issues related to impact evaluation, planning and implementing decision-making processes for evaluating impactful approaches, developing strategies and tools for impact measurement, and coordinating with technical advisors and managers. The advisor will also be responsible for planning and implementing training and knowledge management processes, actively participating in relevant technical and academic networks, and monitoring trends in the national and international academic and donor environment to formulate actionable recommendations for management. Additionally, the advisor will be involved in designing and implementing impact communication and reporting formats, ensuring that the organization effectively communicates its impact to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Impact and System Evaluation Advisor position must possess a university or college degree in a relevant subject area. They should have at least five years of professional experience in humanitarian aid or international cooperation, with a minimum of one year spent in non-European countries. Furthermore, candidates should have extensive experience in evaluating international cooperation projects and programs, with a preference for those who have experience in impact and systems evaluation methods. Strong analytical skills, data translation skills, and proficiency in software solutions for qualitative and quantitative data analysis are also required. Candidates should demonstrate experience in advising technical teams on creating theories of change and evaluation frameworks, as well as knowledge of systemic outcome and impact measurement methods.
