Job Overview: The Programme Analyst position at UN Women involves providing administrative and programmatic support for the effective management of the Afghanistan Safety Net Stream under the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRD) Window. The role requires contributing to the design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of the window’s outputs and activities. The Programme Analyst will analyze results achieved during implementation and support the application of systems and procedures to ensure successful delivery of the Afghanistan Safety Net Stream outputs. This position demands close collaboration with various stakeholders including UN Women HQ staff, government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors, and civil society organizations to ensure effective implementation of the WPHF WHRD Window’s initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute technically to the development and implementation of the WPHF WHRD window’s strategies by providing inputs to project proposals and annual workplans.
Monitor progress on safety net activities and support reporting against results and indicators.
Support the management of finances related to the Afghanistan Safety Net stream, including budget monitoring and financial reporting.
Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies by analyzing and maintaining relevant information and databases.
Provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts, including the organization of events and development of knowledge management products.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills in programme formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as knowledge of Results Based Management and the women, peace, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security agenda.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, or international development. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local stakeholders and communities.
