Job Overview: The Programme Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the WPHF regular funding cycle portfolio across multiple regions including Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America-Caribbean. This role involves coordinating relationships with national and international partners, monitoring and reporting on the portfolio, and managing knowledge production and management. The Programme Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Head of the WPHF Secretariat and will be expected to lead the technical review of proposals, ensure alignment with WPHF’s mandate, and support the implementation of the funding cycle. The position requires a proactive approach to managing partnerships and resource mobilization, as well as advocating for knowledge building and communication within the organization. The Programme Coordinator will also supervise a team and manage financial resources effectively, ensuring compliance with operational procedures and timely reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the Regular WPHF Regular Funding Cycle (RFC) globally, including specific portfolios related to forcibly displaced women, food security, and climate security. This includes leading the technical review of proposals, ensuring alignment with WPHF’s priorities, and updating standard operating procedures as necessary.
Monitor and report on the UN Management Entities, gathering necessary information for effective monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects. This includes leading the monitoring of capacity strengthening projects and reviewing financial deliveries in alignment with operational manuals.
Support partnerships and resource mobilization by providing substantive inputs to briefs and strategies, participating in donor meetings, and collaborating with the partnerships team.
Advocate for knowledge building and management by documenting program implementation processes, contributing to communications products, and organizing events.
Manage financial resources and supervise staff, including reviewing performance, coordinating budget revisions, and overseeing fund allocation and disbursement. The incumbent will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong program formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as good budget and finance skills. Knowledge of Results Based Management and the ability to analyze data and present findings are essential.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, or social sciences is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in areas related to women, peace, and security is required. This includes experience in managing complex programs, grant-making to civil society organizations, and coordinating development programs. Experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings is also necessary.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, along with a working knowledge of French or Spanish. Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.
Additional Notes: The position is full-time and involves supervisory responsibilities over a team of at least two P2 staff members and one consultant.
