Job Overview: The Supply Chain Assistant position is located within the Warehouse and Commodity Management Section of UNMISS in Juba, South Sudan. The primary responsibility of the Supply Chain Assistant is to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of commodities to support the mission's operations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Supply Chain Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: receiving and processing requests for goods, preparing pick lists and issue vouchers, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The assistant will also support the identification of stock levels, prepare warehouse activity reports, supervise and train junior personnel, and monitor the handling of issue vouchers. Additionally, the role involves tracking the consumption of expendable items, initiating write-off actions, conducting monthly stock takes, verifying inventory levels, and ensuring proper warehouse housekeeping. The assistant will also liaise with administration staff regarding goods requirements and submit reports on warehouse activities to management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Supply Chain Assistant position should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in inventory management systems and experience in warehouse operations are essential. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
