Job Overview:
The Finance Coordinator will play a crucial role in directing and coordinating all administrative, accounting, and financial services associated with the mission in South Sudan. This position is responsible for ensuring the financial balance of the mission and compliance with SI procedures, donor requirements, and local laws. The Finance Coordinator will act as the primary reference point for financial matters, linking the mission with headquarters. The role involves analyzing the socio-economic context, managing the financial administrative team, and overseeing financial, accounting, and budgetary management. The Finance Coordinator will also be responsible for cash management, reporting, and communication with both local and international stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the socio-economic context and monitor exchange rates and prices.
  • Manage the financial administrative team, including defining personnel needs, recruitment, training, and performance appraisal.
  • Oversee financial, accounting, and budgetary management, including defining expenditure cycles, consolidating monthly accounts, and ensuring compliance with budgetary processes.
  • Prepare and monitor the mission's financial programming and ensure financial stability.
  • Manage cash flows and ensure secure handling of funds.
  • Ensure regular financial reporting to headquarters and maintain relationships with administrative authorities.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership contracts with local partners.
  • Supervise record-keeping and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between HQ and the field for financial matters.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent adaptability and problem-solving skills, particularly in emergency response situations.
  • Proficient in cross-cultural communication and leadership, with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles to ensure compliance and integrity in financial management.

Educational Background:
A degree in Financial Management, Accountancy, Applied Informatics, or other relevant fields is required. Candidates should have a solid academic background that supports their understanding of financial principles and practices.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least five years of experience in the humanitarian sector, specifically in a similar financial management role. This experience should include a strong background in managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with donor regulations.

Languages:
English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a salaried position with a starting salary of EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided.
