Job Overview:
The Programme Officer position at UNESCO in Brasília involves providing technical, operational, financial, and administrative support for the execution and implementation of project activities under the Social and Human Sciences (SHS) sector. The incumbent will work under the authority of the Director and Representative of UNESCO in Brazil, with direct supervision from Programme Officers. The role requires supporting all phases of project implementation, including identifying needs, proposing actions, and monitoring technical and financial aspects. The incumbent will also participate in meetings, prepare documents, and assist in managing project activities and expenses, ensuring accuracy in administrative data. This position is crucial for the effective management of projects related to education and other areas of UNESCO's mandate, requiring a proactive approach and strong organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Officer include supporting all phases of project implementation, such as identifying needs, proposing actions, and conducting technical and financial monitoring. The incumbent will assist in identifying, evaluating, and disseminating best practices in the SHS field. Responsibilities also include preparing documents for meetings, managing project activities and expenses, ensuring accuracy in administrative data, and assisting with budget control and administration. The Programme Officer will analyze accounts from Implementation Partnership Agreements, assist in logistics for events, follow up on administrative and financial issues, prepare terms of reference, act as a liaison among UNESCO, contractors, and donors, and maintain accurate records and files. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to the execution of projects in the educational area and perform other duties as required by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Communication, International Relations, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A strong sense of ethics, initiative, accountability, and discretion is essential. The role requires proactiveness, the ability to work under pressure, and a focus on quality and results. Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, are necessary, along with the ability to maintain accurate files and records. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Education, Social Sciences, Communication, International Relations, Business Administration, or Finance. Experience:
Candidates should have five to six years of previous experience in managing technical cooperation projects' activities and expenditures. Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with a contract duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal based on budgetary availability and satisfactory performance. The monthly remuneration for this position is BRL 10,554.60, paid in local currency. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
