Job Overview: The Specialist in Humanitarian Access and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security (AHS) will work under the supervision of the AHS Manager to develop humanitarian access and the organization's intervention capacity. This role involves acting as a technical reference and supporting management lines (headquarters, regional, and country levels) and AHS teams in the field in implementing AHS frameworks, operational security, incident/crisis management, and defining access strategies. The Specialist will also participate in strengthening the AHS culture within the organization, ensuring that humanitarian access is prioritized and effectively managed across all programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Specialist's main functions will include contributing to the definition, deployment, and application of AHS standards and norms, ensuring adaptation to contexts, and implementing quality control tools. They will monitor context and trends, contribute to the development and implementation of humanitarian access strategies, and support directors in developing operational strategies in compliance with organizational frameworks. Additionally, the Specialist will assist in operational security management, ensuring that the management line and AHS teams are supported in security operations, and will play a critical role in crisis management by applying crisis management protocols and supporting programs in establishing and training Incident Management Teams. They will also participate in crisis management as a member of the Crisis Management Team, providing analysis, technical support, recommendations, and reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least 3 years of field experience within humanitarian NGOs in security/access management roles in emergency, complex, and unstable contexts. They should be experienced in incident/crisis management, humanitarian access, and capacity building. Proficiency in security management concepts, tools, and processes is essential, along with knowledge of pedagogy and training techniques. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and autonomy are also required. Fluency in both French and English (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory.
