Job Overview: The Internship in Ethics and Risk Management at INTERPOL is designed to attract talented students or recent graduates who are eager to gain practical experience in an international organization. The internship will provide a comprehensive understanding of INTERPOL's goals and objectives, as well as insights into the workings of international police cooperation. Interns will engage in practical work assignments that will enhance their educational experience and develop skills relevant to their future careers. The internship will also offer exposure to a multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multi-ethnic environment, fostering mutual understanding and tolerance among diverse groups. The selected intern will work closely with the Ethics and Corporate Responsibility Assistant Director and the Risk Management Coordinator, contributing to various projects and initiatives within the Office of Internal Oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will support the Ethics and Corporate Responsibility Assistant Director by collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather, extract, and analyze both financial and non-financial data. This includes preparing presentations of data for official reporting and assisting in dashboard management. The intern will also support the Risk Management and Resilience Coordinator by organizing and analyzing risk data using relevant Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools, as well as collecting and presenting risk-related information from across the organization. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of workshops and presentations for various stakeholders, conducting research on ethical issues, drafting policies, and supporting the Ethics Committee. The intern will help develop and deliver training programs on ethics and compliance, review reports of ethical concerns, and support day-to-day operations. The intern will also gain knowledge in risk management and business continuity, develop skills in data analysis, and gain exposure to INTERPOL's governance frameworks and operational risk mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be nationals of one of INTERPOL's 196 member countries and have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality. They should demonstrate adaptability to an international, multicultural, and multilingual environment, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a team. Enhanced knowledge of data manipulation in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, is essential, with a focus on data analytics. Candidates should also exhibit conscientiousness, self-discipline, and motivation to work in an international setting.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have graduated from a post-secondary accredited academic institution within the past six months in a relevant field of study such as Law, International Law, Ethics, Corporate Responsibility, Human Resources, Risk Management, or a related field. A strong understanding of data manipulation in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, is required, with a focus on data analytics.
Experience: The internship is open to students or recent graduates, meaning that candidates should have some academic background or practical experience related to the fields of ethics, risk management, or international law. While specific professional experience is not mandatory, familiarity with relevant concepts and tools will be beneficial.
Languages: An excellent level of English is required for this position. Proficiency in French would be considered an asset, and a good command of any other INTERPOL official languages, such as Spanish or Arabic, would also be advantageous.

Interns will receive an allowance of EUR 700 per month, along with a transport subsidy of EUR 30 and a housing subsidy of EUR 170 per month for eligible interns. It is mandatory for interns to have health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the internship, although they can request enrollment in INTERPOL's health insurance coverage at no additional cost. INTERPOL does not establish internship agreements with universities or academic institutions, and all arrangements are made directly between INTERPOL and the selected intern.
