Job Overview:
The Peacebuilding Project Manager will lead the Peacebuilding Cluster within UNDP Philippines, focusing on achieving the 2030 Agenda. This role involves working with multiple stakeholders to develop country-specific solutions that enhance resilience to crises and ensure inclusivity, particularly for marginalized communities. The Project Manager will oversee various peacebuilding projects, including the PROSPER Bangsamoro Phase II, initiatives on Preventing Violent Extremism, and the Joint Programme on Women, Peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security. The successful candidate will apply global best practices to the national context, demonstrating strong analytical, planning, and implementation skills. The role requires a commitment to peacebuilding and development in the Bangsamoro region, with a focus on conflict prevention, social cohesion, and empowerment of vulnerable groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of peacebuilding cluster projects, ensuring strategic management and providing financial and administrative support. Key responsibilities include leading project coordination, developing and monitoring action plans, preparing progress reports, organizing workshops and consultations, and mentoring team members. The Project Manager will also establish and maintain effective working relationships with government, UN, and donor partners, oversee project implementation, manage project risks, and contribute to knowledge management and information sharing within the UNDP country office. Additionally, the Project Manager will support strategic partnership building and resource mobilization, ensuring the successful delivery of project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, International Development, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered. The position requires a minimum of five years of professional work experience in project management and coordination, preferably in peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Candidates should have experience in budget preparation, financial reporting, and familiarity with standard software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Desired skills include experience in sustainable area development, knowledge of international organizations, and effective partnership development with stakeholders.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Public Administration, Political Science, Public Policy and Management, International Development, or Peace and Conflict Studies is required. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, combined with two years of qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of peacebuilding and development work in the Bangsamoro region.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of professional work experience in project management and coordination, with a focus on peacebuilding and conflict prevention. Candidates with a master’s degree should have at least five years of experience, while those with a bachelor’s degree should have seven years. Experience in international organizations, particularly in relation to peace processes in the Bangsamoro region, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in managing development projects and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Filipino is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of engaging with local communities and stakeholders in the Bangsamoro region.
