Job Overview:
The position of Asociado/a de Programas - Emergencias at WFP involves supporting the execution of emergency operations in Bolivia under the supervision of the Head of Programs. The role requires a proactive approach to managing emergency projects, ensuring effective implementation of activities on the ground, and maintaining close coordination with various units involved in cash transfers and beneficiary management. The associate will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective delivery of humanitarian assistance in line with humanitarian principles and operational standards. This position also entails participating in rapid needs assessments, developing evidence-based response proposals, and conducting field visits to monitor the execution of activities. The associate will play a crucial role in enhancing operational improvements and ensuring compliance with quality standards in emergency response efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Asociado/a de Programas - Emergencias include leading the management of emergency projects, ensuring effective execution of activities, coordinating with various units, participating in rapid needs assessments, conducting field visits for monitoring, preparing accurate reports on emergency operations, managing agreements with implementing partners, maintaining communication with government counterparts and humanitarian partners, and representing WFP in technical meetings. Additionally, the associate will coordinate anticipatory actions, identify risk indicators for early interventions, support the integration of financing mechanisms into national plans, and promote multi-sectoral approaches to disaster risk reduction and community resilience. The role also involves supervising preventive activities and ensuring alignment with national and international regulatory frameworks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid Bolivian nationality or a foreign nationality with a valid work permit at the time of application. They should have a strong background in project management, particularly in emergency operations, and demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing emergency projects, conducting needs assessments, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A university degree in fields related to geographical engineering, environmental science, agronomy, risk management, territorial planning, data analysis, or related areas is required. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage emergency programs and contribute to the organization's mission.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of specific work experience in development projects is required. Experience in formulating risk management projects and working with international organizations, particularly within the United Nations system, will be highly valued.
