Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist ETC will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Supporting the development, testing, and refinement of outcome indicators and methodologies at both project and portfolio levels, ensuring rigorous quality assurance of WBG Scorecard indicators.
• Formulating and monitoring outcome targets to inform evidence-based decisions, conducting in-depth reviews of strategy and project documentation, and applying statistical techniques for predictive forecasting.
• Contributing to the AI for Outcomes program by designing and maintaining analytical tools and data pipelines, leveraging machine learning and natural language processing to enhance outcomes measurement.
• Authoring methodological notes and technical guidance documents to ensure the credibility and comparability of reported outcomes.
• Analyzing outcome metrics and aggregating portfolio results to extract actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Creating visually compelling deliverables that communicate complex analytical findings to diverse audiences.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support capacity-building engagements and thematic workstreams.
• Providing project management support across analytical workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Flexibly contributing to emerging work program priorities and rapid-response analytical requests as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Development, Business Management, or a closely related quantitative field. A Ph.D. is considered an advantage. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, results measurement, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields is required. Candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to bridge technical expertise with strategic business value, particularly in contexts involving senior executive audiences.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline. A Ph.D. is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and research capability in relevant areas. The focus should be on analytics and data-driven methodologies, equipping candidates with the necessary skills to handle complex datasets and contribute to evidence-based decision-making processes.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in fields such as data science, analytics, results measurement, or public policy. Experience in management consulting or portfolio management, particularly with exposure to senior executives, is highly valued. The role requires a strong understanding of empirical research and evaluation methodologies, as well as the ability to apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques effectively.

Languages:
Full professional fluency in English is mandatory, both verbal and written. Proficiency in another official World Bank Group language, such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Chinese, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
