Job Overview:
The Strategic Corporate and Operational Data Unit (SCO) is a pivotal part of the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness (SPD) at the IDB Group. This position is responsible for coordinating the Bank's corporate and operational data agenda, which is essential for strategic management, performance monitoring, operational oversight, and evidence-based decision-making. The Unit Head will lead a multidisciplinary team, translating institutional priorities into actionable reporting products and analytical capabilities. The role encompasses governance, stewardship, and the strategic use of data across the organization, ensuring that data initiatives align with the Bank's objectives and support senior management and stakeholders effectively. The position requires a strong focus on operational reporting, data analytics, governance, and privacy, making it integral to the Bank's mission of improving lives through informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide expert leadership for the Strategic Corporate and Operational Data Unit, aligning its work program with the Bank's strategic priorities and SPD mandate.
• Lead the development of operational reporting, data analytics, and business intelligence solutions, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and usable reporting products.
• Oversee the implementation of the corporate and operational data governance framework, establishing standards and accountability mechanisms.
• Direct the implementation of the IDB Group Personal Data Privacy Policy, promoting responsible data use and compliance monitoring.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to SPD on data-related matters, fostering collaboration between business and technical teams to enhance data capabilities and analytics.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate strategic issues and opportunities related to data governance and analytics, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in relevant fields such as data science, information systems, economics, or public policy. Advanced training or certification in areas like data governance, analytics, or business intelligence is highly desirable. A strong background in data management and privacy practices is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of data governance frameworks and the ability to translate complex data needs into actionable insights and solutions.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in data science, information systems, information technology, economics, business administration, public policy, statistics, engineering, or other relevant fields is required. Additional certifications in data governance, analytics, or related areas are considered a strong asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least seven years of relevant professional experience, with a preference for ten years in data science, analytics, or governance. Experience leading complex analytical initiatives and multidisciplinary teams is crucial. A proven track record in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and engaging with senior stakeholders is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable, while additional knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is considered a plus, enhancing communication within the diverse environment of the IDB Group.

The position is classified as an international staff contract for an initial duration of 36 months, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
