Job Overview:
The ASP.NET Developer position within the UNRWA Education Department is a critical role aimed at advancing the digitalization of educational functions as part of the ICT4E operational plan. This role focuses on the implementation of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) Premises Module, which is designed to enhance the mapping of school infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining various modules of the Education System, ensuring that the digital transformation of the education system is effectively supported. The position requires a strong understanding of web applications development, particularly using ASP.NET, and involves working closely with the Analyst Programmer and the Head of Software Development Section to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the education sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant will undertake a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the functionality and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the Education System. Key responsibilities include:

• Building and updating web pages using ASP.NET to ensure a user-friendly interface.
• Maintaining and enhancing the system's functionality to meet evolving educational needs.
• Developing and updating reports for various system modules to provide insights and analytics.
• Providing daily support and analyzing system requirements to ensure optimal performance.
• Creating and maintaining web APIs to facilitate integration with other systems.
• Conducting bug fixes and quality assurance to ensure the reliability of the system.
• Reviewing code and performing security testing on new and updated pages to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
• Preparing technical documents and user manuals to assist users in navigating the system.
• Delivering a monthly progress report that includes a backlog tracker to monitor ongoing tasks and improvements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited educational institution in Information Technology or a related discipline. Additionally, a minimum of 4 years of experience in web applications development using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server is required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong technical background, with proven skills in developing and maintaining web applications, as well as a solid understanding of database management and security protocols. Experience in quality assurance and testing methodologies is also essential to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Educational Background:
The position requires a university degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or a closely related field. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective software development and system management within the context of the UNRWA Education Department's digital initiatives.

Experience:
The role demands a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in web applications development, specifically using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of successfully developing and maintaining web-based applications, as well as experience in quality assurance processes. This level of experience is essential to ensure that the candidate can effectively contribute to the ongoing digital transformation efforts within the UNRWA Education Department.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as these are the working languages of UNRWA. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages is crucial for collaboration with team members and stakeholders, as well as for the development of user documentation and technical materials. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is based in UNRWA Headquarters in Amman, Jordan, with the possibility for remote consultancy in the fields of UNRWA operations. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of JOD 996.42 or its equivalent in USD for each fully completed month of service. The duration of the contract is set for 7 months, with the possibility of extension contingent upon the availability of funds, ongoing need, and satisfactory performance. This position is part of the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID), and the role reports to the Analyst Programmer while working under the overall supervision of the Head of Software Development Section and Lead Solution Architecture.
