Job Overview: The Analyst position within the Impact & Partnerships Blended Finance team at EBRD is crucial for the effective management and strategic utilization of donor funds. This role involves contributing to the development and implementation of donor strategies and policies, conducting thorough analyses of donor funds and blended finance, and supporting the training and knowledge dissemination related to these areas. The Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that donor funds are sourced and utilized effectively, maximizing their impact on EBRD's operations and strategic objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of the donor fund landscape and the ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making processes. The Analyst will also play a key role in stakeholder management, organizing events, and preparing presentations for senior management and board meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Contributing to the development and implementation of donor strategies and policies, including annual implementation plans and updates.
Conducting donor fund data analysis, producing reports on global trends in Official Development Assistance (ODA), and managing analytics requests.
Supporting the preparation of donor fund presentations and contributing to knowledge pieces related to donor fund sourcing and usage.
Participating in project reviews and assigning blended finance ratings for project alignment with DFI principles.
Developing training materials and delivering training programs on donor fund strategies and blended finance instruments.
Assisting in organizing stakeholder events and preparing technical briefings and analyses for EBRD board meetings.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, or a related field. They should demonstrate strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret numerical data and present findings effectively. A solid understanding of the donor fund landscape, blended finance principles, and relevant policies is essential. Candidates should also have experience in the operational project approval cycle of private sector-focused MDBs/DFIs and be proficient in data analytics. Familiarity with quantitative programs such as STATA or R is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, along with the ability to work effectively in a multi-national and multi-cultural team environment.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, or an equivalent field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary theoretical foundation and analytical skills needed to navigate the complexities of donor funds and blended finance.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in data analysis, donor fund management, and understanding of blended finance principles. Experience in a private sector-focused MDB/DFI’s operational project approval cycle is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both written and oral. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the regions in which EBRD operates.
Additional Notes: This is a short-term contract position with a duration of 23 months. The role is based in London, United Kingdom, and requires the employee to work in the office for 50% of their working time.
