Job Overview: The Associate Investment Officer position is situated within the Private Sector Investment Funds and Special Initiatives Division (PSIS) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. This role is pivotal in managing the credit administration process and maintaining client relationships, particularly in the context of private equity investments. The Associate Investment Officer will be responsible for onboarding clients, overseeing disbursements, monitoring compliance with covenants, and managing billing processes. The position requires collaboration with borrowers, various PSOD staff, and a wide array of internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project monitoring and adherence to obligations. The role also involves supporting the middle office in processing disbursements and distributions, maintaining databases, and providing administrative and planning support to facilitate the credit administration process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Investment Officer include:
Project Monitoring: Ensuring clients adhere to their obligations for timely and accurate submission of periodic reports to ADB, coordinating with Deal Teams in case of covenant breaches, and liaising with other ADB units for further review and action on relevant reports.
Disbursements, Distributions, Onboarding and Closing: Supporting the middle office in processing disbursements and distributions, reviewing withdrawal applications, verifying compliance with disbursement conditions and loan covenants, and ensuring accurate system entries for transaction approvals and terminations.
Database Maintenance: Ensuring the completeness of databases related to legal documentation, financing, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security documents, and project contracts for new project approvals, as well as maintaining project-related databases for management information.
Administrative and Planning Support: Participating in planning initiatives to facilitate PSIS' interaction with other ADB units, assisting in the preparation of inputs for the annual work program and budget, and finalizing submissions related to ADB's annual planning and budget exercises.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related fields, preferably with advanced training. They should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in credit lending and equity investments, particularly in corporate finance, project finance, infrastructure finance, or financial institutions, ideally with a leading international financial institution, investment bank, infrastructure fund, or consultancy firm. A strong understanding of finance business principles, excellent client management skills, good negotiation abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a multicultural setting are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including effective report writing.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related fields. Advanced training in these areas is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge that would be beneficial for the role.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant work experience in areas such as credit lending and equity investments.
