• The multi-country mission covering Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic (TCA) consists of a total of 10 bases/sub-bases. In Cameroon, there is one mission coordination base in Yaoundé and one operational base in Maroua in the Extreme North, as well as a sub-base in Makary. In the Central African Republic, there is one coordination office in Bangui and two operational bases in Markounda in the Northwest and Bouar in the West. In Chad, SI currently has one coordination base in N'Djamena (shared with the Sudan mission of SI) and three operational bases in Bagasola (Lake), Adré (Ouaddai), and Iriba (Wadi Fira). SI also operates in the Ennedi East province from Iriba.

Job Overview:
The primary objective of this position is to temporarily strengthen the team during a particularly busy period by hiring a second Grants Manager in N'Djamena. This role is crucial for supporting the department in developing multiple project proposals (at least four HIP ECHO proposals simultaneously) and preparing numerous upcoming donor reports. Under the supervision of the Grants & Partnerships Coordinator, the Grants Manager will contribute to the monitoring of the grant cycle, coordinate contributions from various departments and partners, ensure the quality and compliance of proposals and reports, and track contractual obligations and donor deadlines. The position presents significant challenges, including the need for rapid onboarding and a strong capacity for adaptation in a high workload context. The Grants Manager must quickly become autonomous to manage multiple files simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and donor requirements. The role involves handling a substantial volume of grants with a diverse portfolio (ECHO, CDCS, AFD, FH, FHRAOC, SDC, etc.) and numerous deadlines. The mission covers three countries (Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic), each presenting specific contexts and programmatic issues, with varied project types and donors. The priorities for the first two to three months include focusing on the development of HIP ECHO proposals, simultaneously tracking several reports/proposals, coordinating contributions from relevant teams, and preparing and finalizing multiple donor reports (notably for SDC, CDCS, ECHO, etc.) while closely monitoring deadlines. A structured follow-up system for deadlines, expected contributions, and contractual obligations will be established to submit high-quality reports and proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Manager will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and write project proposals for various donors, ensuring compliance with their guidelines and requirements.
• Coordinate with different departments and partners to gather necessary information and contributions for proposals and reports.
• Monitor the grant cycle, including tracking deadlines, obligations, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of all proposals and reports submitted to donors.
• Prepare and submit timely reports to donors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Maintain a structured follow-up system for deadlines and contributions expected from team members.
• Provide training and support to team members on grant management processes and donor requirements.
• Participate in meetings with donors and stakeholders to present proposals and discuss project progress.
• Conduct research on potential funding opportunities and develop strategies for securing grants. 1
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper budget management and reporting for funded projects.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Grants Manager position should possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bac +4 level education, preferably in international relations, social sciences, or communication.
• Knowledge of the rules and procedures of various institutional donors.
• Strong writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
• Excellent planning, organization, and coordination abilities.
• Familiarity with communication tools and materials, with a willingness to develop them.
• A sense of diplomacy and experience working in an intercultural environment.
• Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum educational background of Bac +4, ideally in fields related to international relations, social sciences, or communication. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of grant management and donor relations.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in grant management, particularly with institutional donors. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the grant cycle, proposal writing, and reporting processes. Experience in a humanitarian or development context is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the specific challenges and requirements of working in Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered optional but is a valuable asset that can enhance communication with international partners and donors.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a short-term contract, with a salary starting from EUR 2310 gross per month (2100 base salary plus 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly per diem of 600 euros (paid on-site in FCFA). SI also covers housing expenses and travel costs between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a system of alternating work and leave is implemented, allowing for 7 working days off every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). Additionally, there is one extra day of rest for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance that covers all medical expenses (including medical and surgical costs, dental and ophthalmological care, and repatriation) and a risk prevention system that includes war risks. Vaccination and essential malaria treatment costs are reimbursed. Living conditions in N'Djamena are pleasant, with access to restaurants, bars, and leisure activities (such as swimming pools and hotels). There are opportunities for daytime markets, and security restrictions in the capital are minimal (with an extensive green zone).
