Job Overview:
The Grants and Partnership Coordinator is responsible for developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. This role requires a high level of interdepartmental coordination in managing grants and providing strategic support on donor relations, external representation, and compliance. The Coordinator will map donors, monitor funding opportunities, and make recommendations to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director regarding the office's portfolio and business development. The position involves meeting with new donors to present SI's local and regional strategies and intervention logic. The role is challenging due to remote work from Chad, with bases in Sudan and most donors located in Nairobi, Port Sudan, or Addis Ababa. The first few months will focus on diversifying the donor portfolio, capacity building for team members, and refining partnership management systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and monitor partnership and financial strategies for the country office.
• Ensure high-level interdepartmental coordination in grant management.
• Provide strategic support on donor relations and external compliance.
• Map donors and monitor funding opportunities.
• Make recommendations to the Country Director on portfolio and business development.
• Meet with new donors to present SI's strategies and intervention logic.
• Manage partnerships and institutionalize newly set up systems.
• Build capacity of the Grants Manager, Reporting and Communication Officer, and Partnership Manager.
• Address security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security constraints and manage risks associated with the role.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in international relations or program management.
• 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
• 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
• Strong experience with BHA, ECHO, UN, and large consortiums, along with knowledge of donor guidelines.
• Experience in proposal development, reporting, and contractual management.
• Experience in partnership management and team management.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in international relations or programs management is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of humanitarian aid and the management of partnerships and grants effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a comparable role. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the dynamics of donor relations and the operational challenges faced in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage, while proficiency in French is seen as an asset. These language skills are important for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contract lasting 6 months, with a desired start date as soon as possible. The role is based in N'Djamena, Chad, and involves remote work with bases in Sudan. The salary starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates receive a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions in N'Djamena include shared accommodations with reliable electricity and internet, while conditions in Darfur are more challenging with limited social life and curfews.
