Job Overview: The Accounting and Finance Officer will play a crucial role in coordinating financial and accounting operations within the STRIDES project, which is part of the U.S. government’s Global Healthsecurity" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security program. This position is responsible for ensuring the fiscal health of the organization by providing financial management and guidance, conducting analyses of financial data, and preparing reports to ensure compliance with donor requirements. The officer will work closely with project teams and management to interpret financial data, develop budget forecasts, and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach to financial oversight and the ability to adapt to changing regulations and corporate policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze budget forecasts and regulatory filings, compiling moderately complex data for financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with Indonesian statutes and Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal project teams, consultants, and management.
Interpret and explain discrepancies and variations in financial data.
Prepare monthly financial close reports, including bank reconciliations, for submission to Corporate Accounting.
Oversee financial transactions for assigned district-based activities, ensuring timely recording and accuracy.
Manage tax calculations and compliance for the STRIDES project.
Document complex issues and articulate written conclusions effectively.
Utilize financial systems to produce reports, financial models, and databases. 1
Collaborate with technical and procurement teams to support project activities. 1
Develop or adapt financial processes based on changes in corporate policies and regulations. 1
Recommend and develop internal accounting and finance regulations, policies, and procedures. 1
Support the Finance Manager in ensuring compliance with FHI 360 financial policies and procedures. 1
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management, particularly in a government contracting environment.
Proficiency in spreadsheet software is required.
Prior experience working on U.S. government programs and in an international NGO environment is essential.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint enterprise software system is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
Experience as an external auditor for a minimum of 2 years is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesian and English are required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex financial systems and regulations, which are critical for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have between 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, and operational management. This experience should ideally include work in a government contracting environment, which will provide the necessary understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements. Experience working on U.S. government programs and in an international NGO setting is highly valued, as it indicates familiarity with the specific challenges and expectations of such roles.
Languages: Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesian and English is mandatory for this position, as the role requires effective communication with local stakeholders and international partners. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
Additional Notes: The expected hiring salary range for this role is IDR 136,000,000 - 200,000,000 for annual basic salary.
