Job Overview:
The position of Senior Associate for Logistics Service Provision at WFP involves leading a project aimed at providing logistical services to the humanitarian community in Colombia. This role is critical as it addresses an existing logistical gap that has emerged due to new funding mechanisms through OCHA. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing logistical services, which include storage, land transport, river transport, and maritime transport. The role requires close collaboration with beneficiary organizations to ensure that logistical services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The Senior Associate will report to the Supply Chain Officer and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that WFP's logistical operations meet the needs of the humanitarian community, particularly in times of crisis. The position is designed for a six-month contract, reflecting the urgent need to mobilize resources and initiate operations swiftly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Associate will manage the logistics service provision project, coordinating with interested organizations to ensure timely delivery of services. Key responsibilities include managing inventory through the appropriate systems, coordinating service requests, and ensuring that supplies are delivered to authorized destinations promptly. The incumbent will act as the focal point for WFP, ensuring participation from all relevant entities in regular meetings of the Logistics Preparedness Working Group and contributing to preparedness activities based on national priorities and emergency response plans. The role also involves leading coordination activities with partners, collecting and analyzing logistical service provision data, conducting financial analyses, and preparing operational pipeline plans. The Senior Associate will supervise the logistics service provision team, providing technical advice, personalized guidance, and training to ensure that individual and team objectives are met according to agreed standards and timelines. Additionally, the role requires preparing accurate and timely reports on logistical activities to facilitate informed decision-making and maintain productive working relationships with logistics colleagues across various projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field being desirable. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operational project management in humanitarian contexts is required. Experience in providing logistical services for humanitarian organizations or public institutions, leading inter-agency coordination mechanisms, and managing logistics projects is highly valued. Candidates should also have experience in operational data analysis for decision-making, budget management, and team supervision, as well as knowledge of WFP's standard systems and procedures or similar humanitarian organizations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education as a minimum. A university degree in relevant fields such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred and will enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, with a focus on logistics, supply chain management, or operational project management within humanitarian contexts. Languages:
