Job Overview:
The Trainee in the Project Area will support the team in reviewing projects and monitoring construction activities, ensuring that projects meet high-quality standards. The intern will assist in applying best practices in technical design and construction management throughout the project cycle, under the guidance of the technical team. The role requires a commitment to developing technical knowledge, organizational skills, and a collaborative attitude, contributing to integrity, transparency, and coordination among stakeholders involved in project activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the close supervision of the Project Manager and technical team, the main duties will include: supporting the development, preparation, coordination, and review of urban planning, architectural, and complementary projects; assisting in the preparation and review of terms of reference, descriptive reports, specifications, bidding documents, and technical manuals; supporting all stages of the bidding process for project and/or construction contracts; identifying and recommending technical solutions in architecture and engineering through reports and technical studies; ensuring quality in projects, operations, facilities, and environmental conditions; organizing administrative routines for projects and works, such as schedules, meetings, project coordination, and internal process tracking; accompanying engineering inspections of operations, structures, and installations during project and construction development; recommending changes in policies and procedures based on engineering program activity reviews; conducting research in architecture, urban planning, and engineering, and providing technical assistance to partnerships.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or another engineering field, or have graduated within the last three years in one of these areas. It is desirable for candidates to be in their 8th semester or higher in their studies. Experience in architecture, engineering, or engineering projects is preferred, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts. Basic proficiency in Spanish and English is also required, with Portuguese being the native language.

Educational Background:
The mandatory educational requirement is that candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a Bachelor's program in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or another engineering discipline. Candidates who are in their 8th semester or higher are preferred. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern has the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the projects.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some experience in architecture, engineering, or engineering projects. Experience in humanitarian or development contexts is considered an asset, as it aligns with the mission of UNOPS to support sustainable development and public health initiatives. This experience will help the intern understand the complexities of project implementation in various environments.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement is Portuguese at a native level. Basic proficiency in Spanish is required, while English is considered a desirable skill. This multilingual capability is important for effective communication within the diverse environment of UNOPS and its stakeholders.
