Job Overview: The position of Project Support Associate involves providing substantive support to the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities under the NUPPI project, which focuses on drug use prevention and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and crime. The associate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, facilitate operations, and ensure that activities are executed efficiently in compliance with the project’s results framework and internal processes. The role requires active collaboration with various partners, including UNODC, PNUD, SENAD, and other institutions, to support initiatives related to drug use prevention and child protection. The associate will also contribute to the development of training materials and assist in the organization of training sessions and workshops.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Support Associate include:
Supporting senior technical leaders in engaging stakeholders, assessing capacity-building needs, and developing capacity-strengthening programs.
Assisting in budget preparation, procurement processes, and risk identification, including defining mitigation measures.
Coordinating logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings, including venue selection, materials preparation, catering, and certification.
Facilitating internal and external communications to minimize operational disruptions and maintain project execution continuity.
Developing and updating monitoring instruments, progress tracking spreadsheets, and risk documentation.
Collecting, preparing, and archiving documentation related to project activities.
Contributing to the quality assurance of reports, meeting minutes, and documents submitted to donors and partners.
Ensuring compliance with UNOPS policies and donor requirements.
Coordinating procurement processes, travel arrangements, and inventory management to support project operations. 1
Supporting human resources needs related to the project, including drafting terms of reference and monitoring deliverables. 1
Managing project files and shared units to ensure real-time tracking and accessibility of information. 1
Participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives and contributing insights and lessons learned to communities of practice.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the position include:
Completion of secondary education (or equivalent) with six years of relevant experience, or a degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, Communication, Law, or related fields with two years of relevant experience.

Desirable: Some experience working in a UN system organization may be considered an asset.
Proven experience in project management support, including logistics organization, procurement, travel, or event management.
Languages: The mandatory language requirement for the position is fluency in Portuguese. A basic proficiency in English is desirable.
