Job Overview:
The SRH Officer will work under the direct supervision of the NWS BHA Project Manager and receive technical support from the Health and Nutrition Specialist and Protection Coordinator. This role is pivotal in providing technical supervision and mentoring to the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) teams, which include gynecologists, midwives, and general practitioners, in RI-supported health facilities and Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) or one-stop centers in Northwest Syria (NWS). The officer will be responsible for identifying technical capacity gaps among health and protection staff in the provision of SRH services and designing capacity-building plans in coordination with the health Deputy Project Manager (DPM) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Coordinators. The role emphasizes ensuring quality service delivery in line with international standards, particularly in the context of Clinical Management of Rape (CMR) services for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH Officer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including familiarizing themselves with international and Syria-specific SRH service protocols, guidelines, and standards. They will conduct regular capacity-building assessments of SRH staff in health facilities and WGSS/One Stop centers to identify capacity gaps and design and implement plans to address these gaps through mentoring, on-the-job training, and in-service training. The officer will also provide reading materials and organize case reviews within health facilities. Regular audits of SRH services will be conducted to evaluate technical quality and implementation issues, with solutions provided as necessary. The officer will ensure that SRH staff are well-acquainted with protocols and are following them strictly. They will advocate for the readiness of health facilities to provide quality SGBV clinical care services, ensuring the presence of trained focal persons, adequate privacy, and necessary resources. The officer will also facilitate joint sessions with the GBV team on SRH topics, submit regular reports to the Area Manager and other stakeholders, and contribute to thematic reports for internal improvement and advocacy purposes. Additionally, they will analyze and interpret data to track performance against SRH service indicators and perform any other tasks as requested by their line manager or technical supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree as a Medical Doctor from a recognized institution, with specialization as a Gynecologist or Obstetrician being an added advantage. Additional training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) is also beneficial. A minimum of 5 years of experience in providing SRH and SGBV services in health centers or hospitals is required, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Extensive experience in supervision, capacity building, and training facilitation is essential. Candidates should have the ability to validate and interpret health data, particularly reproductive health data, and demonstrate strong communication and training facilitation skills. A solid background in planning, organizing, and conducting trainings is necessary, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required, and knowledge of English is considered an important asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree as a Medical Doctor from a recognized institution. Out of these, a minimum of 2 years should be in a supervisory or managerial capacity, demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage health service delivery effectively. Candidates should have a proven track record of experience in supervision, capacity building, and training facilitation, which is essential for the role.

Languages:
Knowledge of English is considered a mandatory asset for this position, as it is important for communication and reporting purposes. While English proficiency is essential, additional language skills relevant to the local context may also be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
