Job Overview: The WaSHProgram Manager is tasked with achieving project objectives within the designated area, ensuring that all activities are implemented with quality, relevance, and timeliness. This role involves supervising the teams assigned to the program and providing technical support to various bases and sub-bases. The manager is expected to contribute to assessments, strategy development, and project evaluations, ensuring that WaSH activities align with the needs of the population and comply with SI standards and donor requirements. The position also requires the preparation and review of technical designs, monitoring program budgets, and supporting the introduction of new WaSH approaches. The WaSH Program Manager plays a critical role in planning and supervising WaSH activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications, while also documenting lessons learned and good practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The WaSH Program Manager will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including: planning and supervising WaSH activities, managing recruitment and procurement processes, monitoring activity progress and quality, providing technical support for WaSH procurement, and ensuring that activities meet planned results. The manager will also identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions as necessary. Additionally, the role involves contributing to budget planning and expenditure monitoring, documenting lessons learned, and preparing end-of-assignment reports. Personnel management is also a key responsibility, including participating in recruitment, identifying training needs, and managing staff performance. The manager will represent SI in relevant WaSH clusters and maintain effective relationships with authorities, donors, and other humanitarian actors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, with a Master’s degree considered an advantage. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 5 years in a similar position is required. The ideal candidate should have formal training in WaSH, strong project cycle management skills, and the ability to analyze data and provide recommendations. Excellent management and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work autonomously and under pressure. A strong understanding of the humanitarian sector, including cross-cutting issues and humanitarian principles, is also necessary.

Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, subject to extension based on organizational needs, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance. The position is based in Aleppo, Syria, and offers a monthly gross salary of 2,070 USD, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
