Job Overview:
The position of International Consultant for Teacher Trainer on ICT Pedagogy is integral to the UNESCO-UNICEF Joint project 'Empowering Education in Uzbekistan: Leveraging ICT and Digital Learning for High-Quality and Inclusive Education Results.' This project is funded by the Uzbekistan Vision 2030 Fund and aims to enhance educational outcomes for vulnerable children, particularly in rural areas and for girls. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and delivering training modules based on the Uzbekistan ICT and AI Competency Framework for Teachers. The role involves equipping mentor teachers with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to effectively integrate ICT and AI tools into their teaching practices. The consultant will collaborate with national trainers and local partners to ensure that the training is aligned with international best practices and meets the needs of the local education system. The position requires a strong commitment to fostering inclusive, learner-centered, and gender-sensitive teaching methodologies, ensuring that all students have access to quality education.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties and responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on training module descriptions and session outlines prepared by the Lead International Expert.
  • Participating in online coordination and orientation sessions prior to in-country delivery.
  • Delivering 10-day training modules for selected mentor groups, each consisting of approximately 20-25 participants.
  • Facilitating active, learner-centered sessions using adult-education methodologies.
  • Providing feedback and reflection notes after each training round, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of training materials and methodologies.
  • Supporting the documentation and monitoring and evaluation process led by the project team.
  • Ensuring methodological coherence and consistency across all modules and training groups.
  • Encouraging professional exchange and peer learning among trainers. 1
  • Fostering collective ownership and a unified approach to adult learning. 1
  • Strengthening synergy between pedagogical, methodological, and communicative dimensions of mentor training.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • An advanced degree in education, digital technologies, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training.
  • At least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator.
  • Proven experience with ICT and digital learning.
  • Experience in Central Asia education systems is considered an asset.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in multinational and diverse environments.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in education, digital technologies, natural sciences, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the training and development of teachers in the context of ICT and digital pedagogy.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training. Candidates should have at least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator, demonstrating their ability to effectively engage with adult learners and deliver impactful training sessions. Proven experience with ICT and digital learning is crucial, as the role focuses on integrating these tools into teaching practices. Additionally, experience in Central Asia education systems is considered an asset, as it provides valuable context and understanding of the local educational landscape.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication for the position. Knowledge of Russian or Uzbek is considered a good to have, as it may facilitate better communication with local stakeholders and participants during training sessions.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration for this position is 6 months, and it is a part-time consultancy role. The consultant will be required to travel to Uzbekistan for the duration of the contract.
