Job Overview:
The Digital Impact Associate position at UNICEF is integral to the organization's strategy for leveraging digital technology to advocate for children's rights and well-being. The associate will engage in various ICT activities, including desktop administration, server operations, and user support. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure that digital initiatives are effectively integrated into UNICEF's broader mission. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining technical documentation and serving as a point of contact for user requests, ensuring that all ICT systems function smoothly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Impact Associate will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Performing procedural and specialized activities related to UNICEF's ICT systems, including desktop administration and server operations.
  • Installing and configuring ICT system components and providing user orientation.
  • Maintaining technical and user documentation to ensure clarity and accessibility of information.
  • Acting as a focal point for receiving and processing user requests, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Collaborating with other ICT staff to support the implementation of digital initiatives that align with UNICEF's mission.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of training programs for staff on ICT systems and tools.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of ICT systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Supporting the integration of child rights into national digital transformation strategies in collaboration with governments and partners.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in ICT.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education in a related field. Additionally, they should have at least 6 years of relevant work experience in areas such as Information Communication Technology, IT support, systems administration, network administration, cybersecurity, and IT project management. The role requires strong technical skills in areas such as technical support, systems administration, and incident management. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's core values and competencies, including partnership building, ethical awareness, and strategic thinking.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes secondary education in a relevant field. While higher education in information technology or related disciplines is desirable, it is not mandatory. Professional courses or certifications in ICT are also beneficial and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in various aspects of ICT, including but not limited to IT support, systems administration, and cybersecurity. Experience in development contexts, particularly in fragile settings and humanitarian contexts, is highly valued. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing ICT projects and providing technical support in a professional environment.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Uzbek is mandatory, with candidates expected to be fluent in both languages. Additionally, knowledge of Russian at an intermediate level is required. It is also desirable for candidates to have proficiency in another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish, which would enhance their candidacy.
