Job Overview:
The EBRD is seeking a dedicated and skilled Analyst to join its Tashkent Regional Office, specifically within the Energy Eurasia team. This role is crucial for supporting the bank's mission in Uzbekistan, particularly in the renewable energy sector. The Analyst will be involved in all phases of the project cycle, from origination to execution and monitoring. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, including conducting comprehensive due diligence, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. The Analyst will work closely with senior bankers and project teams, contributing to the structuring and execution of transactions, and will be expected to develop expertise in the energy sector, particularly in renewable power generation and related infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Collaborating with project teams on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market information and financial performance data.
  • Evaluating potential risks associated with projects, including financial statement analysis and the preparation of financial models and projections.
  • Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, ensuring alignment with project approval schedules.
  • Preparing internal project documentation, including project memoranda, financial models, and presentations.
  • Communicating effectively with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-up on correspondence.
  • Monitoring project implementation and financial performance, preparing comprehensive reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Engaging with technical cooperation clients and ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Undertaking progressively more complex tasks to build transaction expertise and expand responsibilities within the project team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and develop financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, familiarity with local and international accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modeling software. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, and proficiency in the local language is an advantage. The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts. Additional professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA will be considered a significant advantage, showcasing the candidate's commitment to professional development and expertise in financial analysis and management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the financial industry, ideally gained from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Experience in project finance and corporate finance is essential, along with a solid understanding of the energy sector, particularly in renewables and electricity infrastructure. Familiarity with the Uzbekistan energy market and experience engaging with state agencies and state-owned enterprises in the energy sector will be considered advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Proficiency in the local language of Uzbekistan is highly desirable, as it facilitates better communication with local stakeholders and enhances the Analyst's effectiveness in the role. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may also be beneficial.
