Job Overview: The Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer will play a pivotal role in the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) of the World Bank Group. This position is designed for a senior technical subject matter expert who will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and operationalizing AI-powered business solutions. The selected candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, solution architects, data engineers, and software engineering teams to deliver innovative AI capabilities that enhance operational effectiveness and support World Bank development outcomes. The role is based in Singapore and provides strategic support across global teams while contributing to the World Bank Group’s rapidly expanding AI and digital transformation agenda. The officer will be expected to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that address business needs, translate business requirements into scalable applications, and ensure that all solutions adhere to Responsible AI principles and governance controls.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer include:
AI Solution Design & Delivery: Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that meet business needs and improve operational outcomes. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and production-ready AI applications. Develop prototypes, pilots, and enterprise-grade solutions using Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and automation technologies. Deliver AI solutions that support due diligence, risk management, knowledge management, and operational workflows.
Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation: Design and implement AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and intelligent automation solutions. Build conversational assistants, decision-support tools, document processing solutions, and workflow automation capabilities. Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems and ensure Responsible AI principles are incorporated into all solutions.
Data & AI Enablement: Partner with data engineering teams to ensure data platforms are AI-ready and promote data quality, governance, and compliance practices.
Platform Integration & Engineering: Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows, developing APIs and reusable AI services.
AI Operations, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security & Governance: Support the deployment, monitoring, optimization, and lifecycle management of AI solutions while implementing security and compliance requirements.
Adoption & Stakeholder Engagement: Drive the adoption of AI capabilities across teams and provide training and guidance for responsible AI use.
Innovation & Technical Leadership: Evaluate emerging AI technologies and lead experimentation and proof-of-concepts.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer position include:
Education: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, plus at least 8 years of relevant professional experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years in software engineering, data engineering, AI solution development, or solution architecture, with proven experience in delivering AI, automation, or data-driven solutions in enterprise environments.
Technical Skills: Experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and system integration patterns.
Generative AI & Agentic AI: Hands-on experience in developing and deploying Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions, with practical knowledge of LLMs and AI governance practices.
Knowledge Management: Experience in building knowledge retrieval and enterprise search solutions using vector search or RAG architectures.
Data Engineering: Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and data governance practices.
Software Engineering: Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern software engineering practices.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer position includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, along with significant professional experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with additional years of relevant experience is acceptable. The candidate should possess a strong foundation in AI technologies and software engineering principles, as well as familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise solutions.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, AI solution development, or solution architecture. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering AI, automation, or data-driven solutions in enterprise environments, as well as experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technology solutions. The role demands a high level of expertise in AI technologies and the ability to lead complex projects.
