Job Overview:
The position of E-Learning Administrator is a significant developmental opportunity for an e-learning specialist who is well-versed in advanced online training techniques. This role is situated within the Virtual Academy Unit, part of INTERPOL's Capacity Building and Training Directorate. The Virtual Academy serves as INTERPOL’s digital training solution, offering a variety of self-paced and instructor-led training programs tailored for law enforcement personnel across INTERPOL's member countries. The digital learning ecosystem comprises interoperable cloud-based platforms that cater to various functionalities, including Training Management, Learning Management, and online collaboration. These platforms are designed to evolve based on the identified needs of the users and are supported by a robust quality assurance mechanism that adheres to the organization’s security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and legal standards. The E-Learning Administrator will play a crucial role in managing these platforms and ensuring they provide valuable resources and information to INTERPOL management and authorized users.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The E-Learning Administrator will be responsible for a range of duties aimed at enhancing the digital learning experience within INTERPOL. Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in the development and management of the digital learning ecosystems that support the Virtual Academy Unit, which involves policy development, statistical analysis, and the creation of training resources.
  • Developing a diverse array of digital training content, such as e-learning modules, videos, podcasts, and reading materials, ensuring alignment with INTERPOL’s training standards. This includes utilizing appropriate hardware and software tools for content creation and possibly developing a visual identity for training materials.
  • Supporting the delivery of digital training courses by managing participant engagement and delivering select modules related to the administrator's expertise, while also troubleshooting issues that may arise during course delivery.
  • Assisting the Learning Platforms Administrator in managing user access to e-learning resources via secure websites, mobile devices, and applications.
  • Creating and implementing evaluation mechanisms for digital training initiatives, collaborating with the Quality Assurance and Evaluation Unit to analyze results and suggest improvements for future training programs. Additionally, the administrator may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the hierarchy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in police studies, IT, administration, or a related field. A strong understanding of training and e-learning development or administration tools is essential. The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with additional proficiency in Arabic, French, or Spanish considered a significant advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate solid presentation and facilitation skills, along with the ability to manage various software tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software. A results-driven mindset, proactive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure are crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a degree in a relevant field such as police studies, information technology, administration, or a closely related discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary to perform the duties associated with the role effectively.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in training, with a preference for experience in distance training. Experience in e-learning development and web content management is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset for this position.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory for this role. Additionally, a working knowledge of Arabic, French, and/or Spanish would be considered a strong asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.

Additional Notes:
This position is a secondment role with a duration of 36 months. It is classified at Grade 5, and the successful candidate will be required to obtain security clearance at a basic level.
