Job Overview:
The SECONDMENT - Coordinator - Project Portfolio Management Office position is situated within INTERPOL's Planning & Development Directorate, specifically under the Executive Directorate for Partnerships and Planning. The role involves overseeing project management frameworks, supporting project lifecycle processes, and ensuring effective resource allocation. The Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring project progress, resolving issues, and implementing project management standards. This position requires a proactive approach to developing a project management community within INTERPOL and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. The Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance project performance and facilitate the successful delivery of INTERPOL's projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Resource Management: Collaborate with the Senior Project Portfolio Manager to improve resource allocation and deployment of organizational resources. Advise on project team composition and capacity planning, ensuring standardization of project management roles. Deliver training on project management processes and coordinate topic-specific training sessions.
  • Project Management Standards and Governance: Establish and monitor the implementation of project management policies and guidelines. Foster a project culture within the organization and ensure that templates and policies are updated based on lessons learned. Provide guidance and training to business units on project management practices.
  • Portfolio Management: Coordinate legal and contractual aspects with relevant offices, strengthen synergies with corporate functions, and support project initiation and evaluation. Conduct regular portfolio reviews and produce reports on performance metrics.
  • Project Lifecycle Support: Review project documents for compliance, advise on project planning and closure, and develop new projects as needed. Monitor project delivery and facilitate collaboration among project contributors.
  • Other Duties: Support the Assistant Director in the development of the Sub-Directorate and represent the Sub-Directorate at external events as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in law enforcement agencies or National Central Bureau, with a focus on project management. They should possess strong planning and management skills, with the ability to work independently in complex environments. Experience in legal aspects of policing and working in international settings is advantageous. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in IT applications and project management tools, effective communication skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with teams.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, with three to four years of education at an accredited university or specialized higher education institution. Certification in project management, such as PRINCE 2 or PMP, is considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in law enforcement or related fields, with a strong emphasis on project management. Experience in managing complex tasks with minimal supervision and exposure to international or multicultural environments is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in another official working language of INTERPOL (Arabic, French, or Spanish) is considered an additional asset.
