Job Overview:
The Partnerships Development Manager is a key position within Mercy Corps, responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing high-value strategic partnerships that will unlock new funding opportunities for the organization's programs across Asia. This role requires a resourceful and entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about fostering partnerships that enable communities to thrive in a dynamic development context. The manager will work closely with country leadership, technical teams, and global fundraising colleagues to ensure that Mercy Corps is competitively positioned with priority donors, particularly in the private sector, foundations, and development finance institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in closing complex partnerships and influencing donor strategies, as well as the ability to translate programmatic priorities into compelling funding opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnerships Development Manager will lead and support the identification, cultivation, and management of strategic partnerships that diversify Mercy Corps' funding base. This includes developing and executing a regional donor engagement plan, driving proactive donor mapping, and contributing to the writing and coordination of high-quality proposals and partnership agreements. The manager will also track and refine the portfolio pipeline, conduct market analyses, and maintain up-to-date intelligence on donor priorities. Additionally, the role involves advancing Mercy Corps' private sector engagement and shared value partnership agenda, engaging with prospective donors, and representing the organization in the region.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a BA/BS in international development, business administration, social sciences, or a related field, with an MA preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or strategic partnerships within the NGO, philanthropic, or impact investing sectors is required. Demonstrated success in securing and managing complex partnerships, strong understanding of development trends, and proven experience in proposal development and negotiation are essential. Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills are a must, along with the ability to work productively with a variety of stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a BA/BS in international development, business administration, social sciences, or a related field. An MA is preferred, indicating a higher level of education and expertise in relevant areas.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in business development, fundraising, or strategic partnerships, particularly within the NGO, philanthropic, or impact investing sectors. Candidates should have a proven track record of securing and managing complex partnerships, as well as experience in proposal development and negotiation.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements.
