Job Overview:
The OSCE Project Assistant G5 position is situated within the Economic and Environmental Department of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan. The role is crucial for the successful execution of the project titled 'Platform for Environment and Climate Engagement in Central Asia (PEaCE CA)', which aims to enhance access to green information and opportunities for women and youth. The Project Assistant will work closely with the EED Senior Project Officer and will be responsible for various administrative and project management tasks. This includes liaising with stakeholders, facilitating project activities, and ensuring that all project-related documentation is accurately maintained. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to deadlines. The Project Assistant will also play a key role in monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of project activities by coordinating with counterparts and facilitating their participation. This includes drafting terms of reference for consultants and monitoring the implementation of activities and submission of reports.
  • Performing all administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, making reservations, following up on budgets, and conducting research for information and reference materials.
  • Initiating and following up on actions related to requisitions, recruitment of consultants, training, and study tours, as well as managing payments and travel authorizations.
  • Keeping track of pending matters and following up with other offices on deadlines, budget, and expenditures for specific project outcomes.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders and ensuring coordination of project activities with relevant partners.
  • Performing other duties as assigned in support of the EED portfolio, which may include additional administrative tasks or project-related responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess completed secondary education, with specialized training in project management, IT, or administration being desirable. For positions in the General Service category, a university degree may substitute for one year of work experience, while a second-level university degree may substitute for two years of work experience. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of work experience in project administration, with a strong understanding of project planning, implementation, and reporting. The ability to conduct research and collect information from various sources is essential, and experience with website content management systems or digital communication tools is considered a strong asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary education. Specialized training in project management, IT, or administration is highly desirable. Candidates with a university degree may be considered for the role, as it can substitute for relevant work experience. A second-level university degree can further enhance a candidate's qualifications by substituting for additional years of experience, making it a valuable asset for applicants.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in project administration. Candidates should have a proven track record in project planning, implementation, and reporting. Languages:

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract at the G5 level within the General Services category, with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is set at USD 1190.00, subject to social security deductions, and appointments are typically made at Step 1 of the OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, candidates with relevant experience may be considered for a higher step.
